Import Contacts | Microsoft Outlook | Map Fields

excel outlook Aug 31, 2022

If you've got a spreadsheet of contacts to import into your Microsoft Outlook people, you want to take the extra step to Map Custom Fields so that each "field" of data goes into the proper place in your new contact.

The Import feature accommodates Comma Separated Value [CSV] files or Outlook Data Files [PST], so make sure to save your spreadsheet as a .csv for importing.

To Map Custom Fields, drag the field name from the left side (your spreadsheet headings) to the appropriate field name on the right (Microsoft Outlook fields). Note that some of them may need to be expanded, like how I expanded Email in the video.

Good luck!
